Jeff uses his boat year round and it has spent it's entire life in the sun. The original factory vinyl graphics show the boat's age. Jeff bought replacement vinyl stripes but was having difficulty removing the old vinyl. He tried citrus based cleaners, solvents and heat with little success. Then he tried Bio-Solv.

He sprayed Bio-Solv on the graphics. The key here is to keep the vinyl wet with solvent as it loosens and dissolves the material and its adhesive. After 10 minutes or so, the vinyl is puckering and sliding off the fiberglass surface. Using a scraper, the vinyl is easily removed.

For clean up, Jeff flushed the area with water. Water hydrolyzes the solvent into lactic acid and ethanol which begin to bio-degrade immediately. The result - Jeff is now ready to apply the new vinyl stripe!

Bio-Solv is a powerful solvent and surface cleaner. It is safe to use on cured resins, glass, most metals and other materials. It does effectively attack and dissolve vinyl, many adhesives, some plastics and paints. As with any cleaner, always apply Bio-Solv to the surface to be cleaned in an inconspicuous place to determine compatibility.
